Paul Gilbert Kujawa, 81, of Du Quoin, passed away at 7:06 P.M., Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem.
Paul was a retired farmer.  He enjoyed working in his garden and tending his roses.  Paul enjoyed sharing his garden produce with his many friends.  He loved taking care of his lawn and car.  He was an avid horse shoe pitcher and had won several first place trophies.  He was a faithful member of the Gospel Assembly Church of Du Quoin where he served as an usher.  He supported his church faithfully and financially.  Paul loved to sing and play his guitar.  He was also known to be a very good cook.  He was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Paul was born May 24, 1923 at Pinckneyville, the son of Joseph and Ethel (Hill) Kujawa.
He married Joyce E. Emling on February 29, 1992 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, nieces and nephews- John and Lynn Kujawa, Lester and Ruby Kujawa, Marilyn and Hubert Jones, Ronnie and Vicki Kujawa, David Kujawa, Sue Garbis, Jeff Kujawa, Shirley Wylie, niece- Linda Fronek and husband Richard who have been special to us, three sisters-in-law- Midge, Thelma and Faye.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers- Edward, Carl and Sylvester and one sister, special brother-in-law- Harry Emling.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Dennis Fitzsimmons officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from Noon to 2 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
Interment will be in the Cudgetown Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Gospel Assembly Church of Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
